Project: Final evaluation of the Consortium’s Programme Partnership Arrangement (PPA) with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) (2016)
Role: Lead Evaluator
Activities: Working with a youth specialist, we delivered the Consortium’s final evaluation of its PPA funding from DFID. The evaluation process was framed using Contribution Analysis and included participatory processes with young people, staff teams and partner organisations. The final evaluation report also considered two learning questions that the Consortium and its members could take forward into future partnerships with other agencies and within this Consortium.
Project: Mid-Term evaluation of the Consortium’s Programme Partnership Arrangement (PPA) with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) (2014)
Activities: The consortium had already delivered its required Independent Progress Review to DFID, and now wanted to focus on three specific areas that were of interest to it: performance against the expected outcomes, the added value of working as a consortium, institutional development of monitoring and evaluation during the PPA funding period to date. Using a broad range of evaluation techniques including participatory rapid appraisals, focus groups, workshops, an online survey and key informant interviews, along with an extensive document review and three country visits, I delivered a detailed mid-term evaluation that focused on the key areas of enquiry and provided a number of recommendations for the consortium to consider. Apart from the main report, assessment reports on each country visit were prepared.
